Red Road

A girl is cornered
enthralled, she sees him
but still moves away
and also looks back

Enduring kisses,
fire on her skin.
Tattooed on her heart
shattering her soul

And with every step
she sees the red road
Face down, feet dragging
Breathless, her pale face

She still looks for him
at every corner
He was her freedom
eventually, her chain

She stops in despair
As water pours down
her vision starts to dim
but she still sees him.
